Rules

• Murwillumbah Football Club does not provide Player Insurance for this event. All players play at their own risk and should provide their own insurance cover. Murwillumbah Football Club is simply co-ordinating what is a social event and cannot be held responsible for possible injuries.
• It is the duty and responsibility of all team managers or team captains to assure that all participating players have completed and signed a registration form, signed the waiver/declaration and have received a copy of the rules before entering the field of play.
• Minimum participation age for the men and women’s competition is 15. (Players must be 15 years old at the time of sign on). Minimum participation age for the women’s competition is 15. (Players must be 15 years old at the time of sign on).
• To be eligible to play. Players must have completed and signed a registration form and the players must be registered to a team. Registration forms must be signed by a parent guardian, if the player is younger then 18 years of age. All fees must be paid in full prior to the commencement of the competition.
• Match duration is 2 x 20 minutes on a third size field or according to the relevant competition at time. A five minute break will also be given between halves.
• Teams of six (6) on the field, maximum of ten (10) players per team.
• Unlimited interchange of reserves. All exchanges must be at halfway point. The referee must be notified prior to each exchange. The player being replaced must be off the field before the reserve player can enter the field of play.
• Goals can only be scored from outside the goal area (D). No player can make contact with the ball inside the goal area, except the keeper.
• The goalkeeper can handle the ball only inside the goal area.
• A back pass to the keeper cannot be handled, a back pass header can.
• The keeper can only be exchanged after notifying the referee and the referee has acknowledged the change.
• All free-kicks are indirect.
• No slide or stud up tackles, these and all other yellow card offences will result in 10 minutes sin bin. A second yellow card will result automatically in a send off.
• Foul language and other misconduct will not be tolerated. Referees are advised to penalise all. Breaches of this rule and report each incident to the club. MFC disciplinary committee will deal with all breaches of the club code on foul language and misconduct. Players and spectators are advised to familiarise themselves with the club code of foul language and other misconduct. Copies of the code are prominently displayed throughout the club).
• The referee can red card a player (send off for duration of game). A red carded player can not be substituted.
• Games will start promptly at the scheduled time. Teams must be ready to play at this time. Referees are instructed to start all matches on time.
• Teams unable to take the field on time with the minimum number of four (4) players will forfeit their match.
• One registered player only can be borrowed from another team to make up a maximum of six (6) players. Players can not be borrowed as reserves. It is the duty and responsibility of the team manager or team captain, to assure that the borrowed player has completed and signed a registration form, signed the waver/declaration and has received a copy of the rules, before entering the game.
• Borrowed players must retire immediately from the match when six (6) team players are present.
• Forfeits are awarded to the opposition as a 3:0 win
• 3 Points are allocated for a win, 1 for a draw.
• Female players are permitted to protect their chest by using their forearm. The referee has the right to rule handball infringement for the abuse of this rule.
• Shin Pads and soccer boots are to be worn at all times no metal tags allowed.
